If you feel a need to get your chocolate fix first thing in the morning (while sneaking in some greens), this smoothie is for you. I am not much of a chocolate-in-the-morning person but Aaron is, so this smoothie was created per his request. Blame him if you don't like it.
The protein content will vary a bit depending on what you use, but the way I made it has 16g of protein. If you like to use protein powder, add it in addition to or instead of the flax seed.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie (serves 1)
1 cup non-dairy milk (we used soy, at 7g protein/cup)
2 Tbls. ground flax seed
2 Tbls. PB2 (powdered peanut butter - find it next to the regular peanut butter. If you don't have it, just use regular PB)
2 Tbls. cocoa powder
1 Tbls. agave nectar
1/2 frozen banana
1 handful fresh spinach
Blend it all up, and enjoy!
